I am an Assistant Professor in Emory University's Biomedical Informatics Department and an AI Humanity Initiative Scholar. Previously, I was a Senior Data Scientist and Biostatistician at Stanford University and Flatiron Health, and a Research Associate at the Veterans Affairs Center for Innovation to Implementation (Ci2i).

My research develops natural language processing and machine learning methods to extract clinically meaningful evidence from unstructured sources, primarily clinical notes in electronic health records and patient-generated text on social media. A shared thread across my projects is recovering patient voice and clinical context from text that routine structured data misses, and translating those signals into rigorous evidence for comparative effectiveness research and clinical decision making.
