AI for real-world evidence, and real-world evidence for AI.

Boz Lab is an interdisciplinary research group led by Dr. Selen Bozkurt at Emory University. We develop methods for measurement, inference, and evaluation using real-world data, with a focus on generating reliable evidence and assessing how AI systems perform in real-world settings. Our work draws on electronic health records, unstructured text, and patient-generated data to study validity, fairness, and generalizability.

Our work is grounded in a central question: how can real-world data be used rigorously to generate evidence, and how can those same data be used to evaluate AI systems in practice?
